Rambles

Uhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmm, hi there! šŸ‘‹ Iā€™m back again, and I hope youā€™re doing great. Itā€™s been a while since I last wrote to you, hasnā€™t it? Well, here I am, ready to ramble. I thought Iā€™d share a few things about my life in 2024. Donā€™t worry ā€” this isnā€™t one of those ā€œYear in Reviewā€ pieces (šŸ™ƒ too predictable). Nope, this is just me spilling the tea, chatting about random moments, and taking a stroll down memory lane, 2024 edition.

Letā€™s start with this: I had to take a break from both football and the gym for an entire year. Trust me, it wasnā€™t by choice. The culprit? A knee injury. It started at the gym ā€” a misstep here, a little too much weight there ā€” and things went downhill when I pushed it further on the football pitch. Classic recipe for disaster, right? I finally had to admit defeat and visit the hospital. The orthopedic department became my hangout spot for a bit. They put me on a month-long therapy plan, which definitely helped. My knee got better, but, frustratingly, it never fully healed.

After moping around for a while, I decided to shift gears. Thatā€™s when swimming came into the picture. I signed up for a swimming class, and honestly, it felt like a fresh start. For two whole months, I showed up three days a week, consistently diving into something new (pun intended). It was therapeutic ā€” not just for my knee, but for my mind too. Thereā€™s something about being in the water that feels freeing, like youā€™re floating away from your worries, even if just for a while. In all honesty, this is one of my biggest triumph in a while, why exactly? Some years ago, I tried to learn how to swim and failed terribly at it and lost all confidence and became ā€˜scaredā€™ of swimming, not to talk of the time I almost drowned in a river while growing up šŸ™ƒ.

But I didnā€™t stop there. Enter squash: the unexpected twist in my 2024 fitness journey. I registered for a squash court and, to my surprise, ended up making a handful of friends who are just as passionate about the game as I am. We bonded over rallies, mis-hits, and the occasional ā€œDid you even see that coming?!ā€ It wasnā€™t just about the sport ā€” it was about finding community, even in a year that started with setbacks. Funny how life works, isnā€™t it?

And speaking of connection, hereā€™s the biggest plot twist of 2024: I found love. head-over-heels love. Someone who makes me laugh and listens to me ramble. Someone who makes the prospects of the future a lil clearer. Saying Iā€™m proud and happy to call her mine doesnā€™t even begin to cover it.
